We are also part of a State University, and my understanding is that if
you are contacted as part of your job at the museum, you can only receive
mileage.  If someone calls you at home, and you do the speaking on your
own time, you can receive up to a certain amount, as delineated by the
University.  Check U of O's conflict of interest policy.
