You will find lots of info on the ATF's website at
http://www.atf.treas.gov/core/firearms/firearms.htm

You shouldn't have any problems with the black powder weapons.  If you
have any machine guns in the collection, they must be registered.  There
is no fee to register these weapons if they are permenantly disabled
(welded, not just removing the pins).
