A few years ago someone (the name may be E. Bevett, but I wouldn't swear to it)
at the National Parks Service completed a survey of institutions displaying
architectural fragments.
It may be on the NPS website. The research culminated in a conference at
Collonial Williamsburg - again, they might be able to put you in touch with the
database.
