Billy Idol, Chris Isaacs, The Romantics, The Police...I found a website
describing those born between 1960 and 1965 as `Tweeners. Growing up, my
favorite music was big band swing because my mother was a teenager during
the war. My brother (a Boomer), who went to the REAL Woodstock, played
Hendricks and the Stones for me. I would hate to see museums get into this
type of categorizing for the sake of programming.

I did a survey last summer for a museum. Most visitors were between 40-51,
having a total income of $41-50,000 - in other words, most likely "empty
nesters". :) I think we go overboard with "children's programming", "family
programming", etc. My husband and I travel frequently. Our itinerary will
be the same with or without children - museums, antique shops (brave, I
know), and other historic sites. If a museum is having a special annual
festival or event, it might sway our vote. But special programming probably
would not make a difference.
