Job opening - Architectural Historian, Mississippi State Capitol,
Jackson, MS
Newly created position in the Mississippi Department of Archives
and History to oversee preservation/restoration/maintenance of a
National Register property and its furnishings. Candidates must be
capable of obtaining permits to change property in accordance with
established guidelines, assisting with restoration/interpretive plan
preparation, and communicating with Department staff and elected
officials. Requirements include a Master's degree in Architectural
History or historic preservation studies and three years of experience
in historic architectural conservation, historic preservation and
planning, historic/architectural survey or the National Register of
Historic Places. Beginning salary $31,197.48, not including benefits.
