I have several employee incentive programs which I manage. One is for
Customer Service to encourage them to sell more memberships, one is for
recognition/appreciation and one is institute-wide (Carnegie Science Center,
The Andy Warhol Museum, The Museums of Art and Natural History and the
Libraries). There is also a monetary incentive in place for Carnegie Science
Center Visitor Services Staff (admissions).
Each program is set up differently, so perhaps you might want to
contact me directly, Susan. I would be more than happy to discuss it. I have
solicited over 200 local businesses and cultural organizations to donate
prizes towards such campaigns and have been fairly successful with it.
I decide who wins usually on a random drawing, however, everyone
gets a prize to show appreciation for their efforts. I can go into greater
detail on-list, if that's appropriate in everyone's opinion, otherwise,
contact me directly.
Good luck!
Allison

Subject: Need Your Suggestions!
We are looking for ideas for a NON-MONETARY employee recognition program.
(yes we'd really all rather RECEIVE money, but no one has it to GIVE!)
I'd love to hear what your institution does to reward/recognize employees.
We already have a very structured service award program, this would be more
of a morale-booster. What are you doing in your agency? Certificates?
Plaques? Gifts? Who decides on the recipients - management? general
staff?
I'm eagerly awaiting your response
