Christen,

Excel seems to be employed widely.  I would definitely make a beeline
for a class in that.  Fortunately, I learned it on the job in another
place.  Databases seem to be more variable.  Some in common usage are
Access and FilemakerPro.  I look forward to seeing others answers to
this question!
