You might be interested in checking the Museology Bibliographic (BMUSE)
database for information sources for your question. BMUSE brings together
holdings from many international sources, including the UNESCO-ICOM Museum
Information Centre and the Library of the Canadian Conservation Institute.
Referenced material includes over 29,000 journals, journal articles, books,
and reports published from 1900 to the present. Entering the words'Visitor
Behaviour' retrieved 287 references, including many from the past few
years.
BMUSE is available on the Canadian Heritage Information Network (CHIN) Web
site (http://www.chin.gc.ca). At "Reference tools and Resources", select
"Research and Reference" and then "Museology Bibliography (BMUSE)" or go
directly to http://www.chin.gc.ca/e_main_menu.html. Although this database
is part of CHIN's subscription service (there is a fee of $100.00 U.S. for
a single user account and there is also a site license available for larger
institutions with multiple users), it is accessible for a free 30-day
trial. You may register for an account through the Internet at the
'Research and Reference' menu.
If you have any questions about searching BMUSE, please don't hesitate to
