Conservation Internships
The Henry Ford Museum & Greenfield Village
Position: The Henry Ford Museum & Greenfield Village seeks two conservation
interns to survey and assess the physical condition of its childhood
collections during the months of June, July, and August, 1999. These
internship positions are part of a project to improve the documentation and
physical condition of the collection and will include some minor treatments
under the supervision of conservators. The project is funded by the National
Endowment for the Humanities.
The childhood collections include toys, dolls, games, and child-rearing
artifacts such as children's vehicles, furniture, equipment, and tableware.
Qualification: Detail oriented, reliable individuals with good
communication and organizational skills. Application is open to students
currently enrolled in conservation training programs and experienced
conservators.
Hours: Summer positions, forty hours a week.
Application Deadline: Applications will be accepted through April 1999.
