One small suggestion to any future or present webmasters out there from
someone with computer equipment that's ancient and sloooooow: go easy on
the fancy graphics and colors, especially anything on a black background.
It might look great on your monitor, but be completely illegible on mine.
Those of us with old systems also love text-only options. Also, because I
tend not to download images if I can avoid it, I really hate it when I have
a list of options with pictures for buttons. I have to click on the
button, download the picture, then click again to make my choice. Along
the same line, I love websites that have captions available for the
pictures so I don't have to download them to get the gist of what's going on.
As time passes, this will be less of a problem, hopefully, but for now it
seems silly to put a lot of effort into fancy features that irritate some
of your visitors. That's not to say you shouldn't do anything interesting,
just give us slowpokes a way to get around it.
Thanks for reading my two cents worth.
