Has anybody replying to this thread bothered to actually look at the
job listings in AVISO? If you think a person with an M.A. is
underpaid, look at the job descriptions that basically ask for
Supercurator in a business suit, demands for Ph.D. plus five or more
years of ever increasing job responsibility, for salaries that would
make anyone but a Ph.D. in literature laugh.
On the other hand, doing a job you like for a living wage carries a
lot of " psychic income and benefits" that might be hard to come by
any other way. If money is the object than museum jobs are not the
answer, not at the moment, anyway.
