DIRECTOR OF DEVELOPMENT:
The Ackland Art Museum at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill
seeks experienced, dynamic Director of Development. Situated in the heart
of Chapel Hill, the Ackland has a collection of over 14,000 works with
strengths in Asian and European art, as well as a growing collection of
contemporary art, a dynamic exhibition schedule, and a nationally
recognized education program. Duties include the identification,
cultivation, solicitation, and recognition of individual, corporate, and
foundation donors; grant writing; staff management; and oversight of
membership, special events, marketing, and publicity. The Director of
Development will work closely with the University Development office in
preparing for a major capital campaign. Bachelor's degree required with a
minimum of five years fund-raising experience and an understanding of the
unique value of a university art museum. Strong strategic planning,
organizational, and writing skills essential and capital campaign
experience is desirable. Salary ranges from high $40s to $50s
