Position Available Immediately. The Autry Museum of Western Heritage seeks a
Collections Manager for Loans and Exhibitions. As a member of the
Collections Management Department, the Collections Manager for Loans and
Exhibitions is responsible for managing all domestic and international
incoming and outgoing loan activity including (but not limited to) loan
agreement and contract negotiation, documentation, insurance, condition
reporting, packing, crating, shipping, and chairing the Outgoing Loans
Committee. Coordinates logistics and all artifact-related activity for
incoming and outgoing traveling exhibitions. Acts as Lead Collections
Manager on certain exhibit planning and development teams. Also shares
responsibilities for departmental budget management, collections care and
handling, and collections security. Must be organized, detail-oriented, and
eager to work with a very ambitious loan and exhibition program. Prefer MA
in museum studies, history, art history, anthropology, or related area with
at least 4 years experience in collections management/registration with
strong experience in loans and shipping management and advanced computer
skills including proficiency with collections management databases, ARGUS
preferred. The Autry Museum is an Active EOE.
