Re: carpentry hands-on
Have you talked to the people at the Children's Museum of Indianapolis?
I know they have a woodturner who comes in and works with kids. I don't
know who the contact person in the institution would be, though I know the
woman who does the wood turning activity for them. (She is a professional
woodturner/artist in the community. She also does workshops around the
country. I can give you her name if you're interested.) Children's Museum
main number is (317) 924-5431.
Conner Prairie, the living history museum here, has a hands-on where visitors
can try using a draw-knife to shave some wood but I think that's the extent
of their woodworking activities.
