I just read an article yesterday in this month's edition of Town &
Country regarding the status of women as museum directors. If I
remember my facts correctly, they reported that approximately 1/3 of the
membership of the AAMD is female. The article also reported that most
women directors are in small to medium sized museums, and that there are
only a small number of women (like 2) who are directors of exceptionally
large museums. It was interesting, but not very deep. It might be
worth a look, but it was quite short.
