I was under the impression that the Y2k problem was limited to digital
applications; but I seem to have been wrong. Yesterday, while driving into
town, I noticed that the expiration date on my NY auto registration read as
follows: "3-00," meaning March 2000. Just a few seconds afterwards I was
stopped by the police and arrested for not having renewed my registration
since 1900.
