In response to Hava's question, since I haven't seen a response so far,
I feel compelled to leap into the breach. It isn't every day that
someone asks a question I'm qualified to answer, and when one comes
along, I'm gratified to contribute. Does an attractive design make a
difference in attracting readers to "more-information pullouts"? Yes.
You can quote me.

A more conservative response would be "it couldn't hoit." What's the
alternative--deliberately ugly designs?
