I am putting together a Heritage Lottery Fund bid which will include
funding four six-month internships. The purpose of the internships is
to encourage young people, particularly from sectors of society
currently under-represented, to investigate museums as places of
employment, so I am concerned that the level of remuneration is not
set so low that only middle-class people can afford to take them up.
What would you recommend (as, perhaps, a percentage of the average
starting salary of graduates, or a graduate entering the museum
profession, to facilitate comparisons between cultures/currencies).
Many thanks,
___
