PRESS RELEASE April 21, 1999
InfoDisc, Inc. announces a new corporation,
a new idea for old treasures…
COLLIGO CORPORATION -Digital excursions into History and Art
Colligo broadens the access to photographic and other collections in
libraries, museums and private hands by using today's computer technology to
display yesterday's treasures for the future. Colligo Corporation develops
partnerships with the owners and stewards of collections and exhibitions and
electronically publishes the information unto CD, diskettes, Internet and for
interactive exhibits. Digital versions of collections cost considerably less
to produce and distribute than conventional means of reproduction and
archiving. It is our aim to open the doors of accessibility for educational
purposes and personal enjoyment.
End users expect more from an electronic version but do not want to be
overwhelmed by the software. To be as close as possible to the original,
Colligo takes great care to reproduce the collections in a manner that "look
and read", - similar to a book, a coffee table publication. Contents are
enhanced, not diminished by the production methods Colligo employs.
"A digitized reproduction on a high quality, color computer screen is far
more satisfying and revealing than anything on the printed page. Combine this
with the interactive options and discover a new realm of appreciation,
somewhere well beyond viewing a reproduction in an exhibition catalog".
Museum News, American Association of Museums
To encourage the owners of these collections to use their service, Colligo
performs on a lucrative sliding scale royalty basis that will pay back to the
owner up to 50% of the net proceeds of each project.
