"Collections In Focus" Guide Program
FT (37.5 hrs/wk)
The MIA seeks a person to coord and teach a new tour guide program. Teach & oversee training sessions; develop course curriculum & training calendar; assist with volunteer recruit & evaluation. Reqs: grad degree with coursework in Art History, Anthropology, Material Culture or related field; must have demonstrated mastery of basic pedagogical theory/technique, & art hist expertise; must have strong written & oral comm skills, ability to work well with volunteers, & sensitivity to racial/ethnic groups. Knowledge of both European and a variety of non-European cultures, and exp in interpreting the material expressions of those cultures in a sensitive manner to beginning learners is also reqd. Frequent Thurs evening and wkend hrs. Send a cover letter, resume and salary reqs by June 1st.
