The National Association for Interpretation (NAI) Web site is at:
http://www.nai-link.org/index.asp
NAI is organized by regions and sections (interest groups)---promoting
communication and sharing among interpreters who have common regional
interests and those who have common subject matter interests. The
sections
include:
- African-American Experience
- Council for the Interpretation of Native Peoples
- Cultural Interpretation and Living History
- Environmental Education
- Nature Center Directors and Administrators
- Resource Interpretation and Heritage Tourism
- Visual Communications
- Zoos, Wildlife Parks, and Aquaria
If there isn't at least one section that speaks to your interests,
you're
probably not in interpretation!
As a long-time member of NAI who has some museum experience, I
encourage museum folks to check out, and join, NAI. You'll find a
network
of people with the same interests and problems you have--and they're
willing
to share their experiences and learn from yours.
Please excuse the 'info-mercial'--I'm a believer!
