Ken,
The historic village of St. Genvieve, Missouri has a small visitors center that also houses a few exhibits, a theater area for short video presentations, bathrooms and a retail/information (welcome) area. It might be worth a call to Missouri Department of Parks (I think they oversee operations there). I hope this helps.

Subject: visitor center ideas
We are a small historical organization in West Virginia that interprets a pioneer fort built during the French and Indian War. All we have for interpreting is the site with an archeological dig in progress. We recently raised $250,000 to spend on a visitors center. Its not much. Has anyone seen a small building or plans for one that could serve as a multi-use structure, i.e. welcome center, exhibits, meeting room, kitchen and bathroom facilities, etc. Many thanks, Ken Edmonds, Fort Edwards Foundation, Capon Bridge, WV 26711
