The 1998 Conference of the Evaluation and Visitor Research Special
Interest Group of Museums Australia will be held in Canberra over
three days from Monday 3 August to Wednesday 5 August.
The first day of the conference comprises 4 workshops - surveying
visitors; front-end evaluation; cost-effective visitor evaluation and
program evaluation.
The final two days of the conference deal with issues of vital
importance to staff working in all areas of museums and cultural
institutions:
* current issues in evaluation and visitor research
* the visitor as learner
* strategic role of evaluation in museums and cultural institutions
* leisure in the 21st century
* cultural trends in Australia
As well there will be many opportunities to network with colleagues
from a diverse range of museums, cultural institutions and
universities in Australia and New Zealand.
