Thomas,
Check with the Lowell Textile Museum in Lowell, Mass....they have a lot of
info on looms....and they are on-line.
>I'm looking for information on powerlooms. This comes after being asked to
>look at a garage full of powerlooms and related industrial weaving
>equipment which was purchased in the 1950s when the equipment in a local
>factory was updated. The looms were used principally to manufacture
>upholstery fabric.
>
>The cast iron looms are each about 10 feet wide, by 5 feet deep and 6 feet
>high. I searched for foundry marks, brass plates, etc and came up with the
>following:
> - a patent date of November 27, 1877 on each loom
> - the name "The Stafford Company, Readville, Massachusetts" on the
>jacquard attachments
> - the name "FA Lazenby & Co., Baltimore, MD", "Model T Jr" on a
>bobbin winder
>
>I'd appreciate leads on printed resources, trade catalogues and collections
>related to industrial weaving equipment, especially looms. Please respond
>directly to [log in to unmask]

>Thanks.
