Most likely no one is missing the point, Elizabeth. Paying jobs just can't
be created to make way for a bumper crop of new graduates. Perhaps those on
boards of directors, who see to the funding of museums, see interns as a
"cheap way out" of a staff crunch. But I guarantee that the professional
staffs are probably embarrassed at not paying good people to do important
work.
