Dear Colleagues:
I am conducting research for E.P.O.C.H. (Expanding and Preserving Our
Cultural Heritage). Their museum/archives, S.D. Spady House Museum, a
small (circa 1940's) historic building is being renovated by the City of
Delray Beach (Florida).
Spady House plans an inaugural exhibition in December of 1999 that focuses
on the history of African American settlers to Delray Beach (prior to
1940). The museum seeks any and all information related to said interest.
Spady House is especialy interested in artifacts, primary information, and
original documents regarding schools, political figures, land owners,
property deeds, businesses, immigrants to the area, etc. Photographs,
maps, telephone directories, correspondences, household items, etc. are
needed.
Please contact [log in to unmask] if you have any information or can
provide any leads regarding the above.
Thanks in advance.
