I didn't respond to this request because the US
Military didn't establish forts and an active presence
in ND until the 1860's - except for Lewis & Clark's
brief sojourn. Since Harry mentioned my name as a
resource, I'd recommend that you contact someone at the
Minnesota Historical Society, which does in-character
interpretation at Ft. Snelling (1820's-1860's) historic
site. Perhaps the Site Manager, Steve Osman could
