INTERNSHIP: EXHIBIT PLANNING, DEVELOPMENT AND INSTALLATION
The Stars and Stripes National Museum and Library has an immediate need for
an experienced intern to assist in the planning, development, and
installation of exhibits for a developing museum devoted to the Stars and
Stripes military newspaper. The exhibits will cover a wide range of themes
related to the paper's history and influence in America's wars
The Stars and Stripes Museum is located in Bloomfield, Missouri, the 1861
birthplace of the paper, and possesses a growing collection of relevant
artifacts. Bloomfield is a small community 3 hours south of St. Louis and 3
hours north of Memphis. The museum is currently housed in a new, 3600
square foot facility, which will serve as a temporary home while the
permanent museum is being built.
Successful applicants will have a background in American history (military
history and history of journalism would be especially helpful) and must have
training and experience in exhibit development.
Interns will be provided housing, food allowance, and $100.00 per week.
