I'm doing a small contract for the James J. O'Mara Pharmacy Museum aka
Apothecary Hall here in St. John's, Newfoundland (Canada). They have
reproduced (in a somewhat more modern building), a pharmacy as it would
have existed around 1892. 1892 marks the last (so far) of a series of
"Great Fires" that each razed most of the city.
The contract consists primarily of advisory services and suggestions
relating to current policies and procedures, and their artifact and
archival collections.
Amongst other things, I'm looking for suggestions relating to active
interpretation/recreation and exhibit ideas from existing museums with a
focus on the same theme.
I'd also just like to make contacts with curators/staff/volunteers of
such institutions who would be willing to have me bounce some ideas off
them.
Please feel free to reply to the list if you feel the content justifies
it, otherwise just contact me at:
