I am currently Coordinator of Educational Exhibits in the Museo de
Bellas Artes, Caracas, Venezuela (South America), and I'm new to this
position. (I was working previously in the Communications Dept. of
another museum). I have been reading pretty interesting articles on the
Net about learning theory and its application to museum contexts. The
thing is I find it very hard to visualize HOW I could put into practice
these theories. In my country there are very little references on
educational exhibits (that were actually succesful) in museums. We have
an excellent science information center for children, but I find it
difficult to apply this type of exhibits to art museums.
If anyone could recommend books, articles, catalogues, etc where I could
get a good look at pictures for examples (or at least detailed
descriptions of the exhibitions) I would be very thankful.Plus, if
anyone has recently produced/curated an educational exhibit, I'd like to
have your e-mail to exchange ideas.
