Section of the Conservation Department of the Tate Gallery, Mill Bank, London

9.30 to 10.00 Registration and Coffee
PLEASE ARRIVE WELL BEFORE 10.00 AS IT WILL BE VERY DIFFICULT TO ADMIT LATE
COMERS
10.00 to 11.00 Historical look at design etc.
11.00 to 11.30 Break
11.30 to 11.45 Vitrines. Micro climates
11.45 to 12.15 Frames and build up construction
12.15 to 12.30 Glazing doors
12.30 to 13.00 Gallery talks on frames etc.
13.00 to 14.00 Lunch
14.00 to 16.30 Practice session including demonstrations and short
talks on various analytical options for frame decoration etc., cleaning,gilding,
composition materials, documentation.
If the group is interested and there is time there will be a brief visit to
the painting conservation unit.
Cost: Pounds Sterling 6.00 excluding lunch
