Director of Education   McLean County Historical Society

The McLean County Historical Society is seeking a Director of Education for
its AAM accredited Old Courthouse Museum.  This museum presents lively
interpretations of the local history of McLean County.  The Director of
Education is responsible for all school, educational events and exhibit
related programming and works closely with area teachers and community
representatives to develop programming which relates to curricula and
community needs.  A half-time assistant works with the Director of Education
to achieve these goals  The educator is also responsible for the management
of a small museum store.
 The successful candidate will have : a B.A. in a related field; one year
experience in museum education; excellent writing and verbal skills; the
ability to communicate with children and adults; the ability to translate
goals into action and the ability to do simple graphic layout on a PC.  The
position offers full benefits and a salary range of $22,894 to $32,051.
