You might try contacting pat and or noel holmgren, botanists who have done
a lot of collecting and publishing on the flora of that region, in a series
called Intermountain Flora.

Pat also directs the NY Botanical Garden herbarium.  I know that they have
been working on a searchable database with historical information, but I'm
not sure if it is on line.  Your best bet would be to contact pat at
