Internships at the Institute for Learning Innovation, Annapolis, Md.
The
Institute for Learning Innovation is currently accepting applications
for
1998 internships. We are a non-profit organization which works to
describe, assess and advance learning, both in free-choice settings and
in the formal education system.
Founded in 1986 by Dr. John H. Falk, the Institute was originally named
Science Learning, inc. (SLi). The collective experience of our staff
gives us expertise across a wide variety of disciplines including art,
history, and science. Our focus is in three distinct yet integrated
areas: research and evaluation, professional development, and resource
development. More information about the range of activities in which we
engage is available on our web site, located at www.ilinet.org.
Interns can pursue interests in informal learning and acquire hands-on
work experience in all aspects of evaluation and research. There are
opportunities to help with the development of educational resources, to
organize and engage in professional development, and to become involved
in other facets of our organization that match your interests.
These are paid, three-month internships. Our current schedule is listed
below. There is some flexibility in this schedule to accommodate the
needs of both parties.
Spring Feb. 1-April 30 Application deadline: Jan. 1
Summer June 1-Aug.31 Application deadline: April 15
Fall Sept. 1-Nov.30 Application deadline: July 15
Students working toward a graduate degree and professionals in the field
are encouraged to apply. Interested candidates should send a cv/resume,
three letters of reference, and a letter of intent to:
