Curator of Education and Curator of Exhibits (2 full-time positions)
Outagamie Museum/Houdini Historical Center (OM/HHC), Appleton, WI seeks
two highly motivated curators. The Outagamie Museum focuses on the social,
cultural, political, and economic history of the people of Outagamie County
and the Lower Fox River Valley. The Houdini Historical Center interprets
the life, career, and legend of Harry Houdini. Responsibilities include:
research themes related to both local history and Houdini; develop and
implement all aspects (including budget) of the OM/HHC exhibits or
programs, respectively; hire, train and supervise OM/HHC volunteers and
seasonal interpretive staff as needed; serve on the exhibit team and help
develop and evaluate strategic interpretive plans; public speaking; write
articles as needed; and participate in the development and implementation
of OM/HHC activities.
Qualifications include: BA (MA preferred) in museum studies or related
field; previous experience; demonstrated ability to effectively plan,
organize, budget, manage and oversee paid and unpaid staff as part of a
team to realize multiple projects; excellent communication skills; and
