Senior Curator
New Bedford Whaling Museum, a 95 year-old whaling, maritime and local
history museum of nat l stature seeks visionary, experienced Senior Curator
to manage collection of 120,000+ objects and help implement major expansion
plan. Serving on senior management team, Senior Curator will guide
collection through period of facilities reorganization.  Duties include:
managing collections; planning exhibitions; overseeing research activities;
managing staff, adjunct curators, interns and volunteers.  Senior Curator
works closely with Executive Director and Development Director to identify
funding opportunities. Demonstrated track record in exhibition development,
collections management and scholarship required; advanced degree in related
field preferred. Successful candidate will be collegial, organized,
self-starter with 7-10yrs  progressive experience in curatorial setting;
possess direct and open communication style; have strong writing,
