If you haven't already, I suggest that you contact the Hands-On History
developers at the National Museum of American History in Washington, DC. The
room there was so popular, that they had to regulate participation with free
tickets for periods of one half hour. It is staffed by docents and it houses
some very good history activities, as well as some clunkers. Part of the
mission of the developers is to offer assistance to other museums attempting
similar things. They have handouts and offer professional consultations. Their
objectivity about success and failure is refreshing and very practical. It's a
tremendous resource. Good luck.
