A better choice would be either another MA in Museum Studies, or a
certificate plus a PhD in an appropriate discipline (history, nat.sci.,
education, art history, etc., etc.). As with any graduate work, make sure
the degree will be worth getting (i.e. you need it to fulfill your career
goals) before you go after it.

: Why would anyone even want or need a PhD in museum studies? I think
: this would be totally useless. A Phd in museum studies would just add
: more needless years of education and cost too much money. I agree with
: Laura. If you already have a MA get a graduate certificate in museum
studies.
