Washington D.C. Here is the call for proposals for papers, posters, and
panel sessions. On the second page is the call for workshop proposals. All
have a deadline of Feb 6.

Proposals for individual papers, posters, and panel sessions, are being
solicited for the 1998 Visitor Studies Conference, sponsored by the Visitor
Studies Association, in Washington, D.C.
Proposals are welcomed on all aspects of visitor studies and related
fields, including: exhibit and program evaluations, educational impact of
visitors' experiences, informal learning theory and measurement, leisure
studies, public relations and marketing, audience research and development,
architectural/exhibit/graphic design principles, and environmental
psychology. Presentations highlighting methodologies and difficulties faced
are especially encouraged.

1998 VISITOR STUDIES CONFERENCE

Proposals for workshops are being solicited for the 1998 Visitor Studies
Conference, sponsored by the Visitor Studies Association, in Washington,
D.C. Workshops should be lively, interactive sessions in which
participants have the opportunity to broaden their knowledge and skills in
studying or enhancing the experiences of visitors. Suitable topics could
include various techniques in exhibit and program evaluation, statistical
analysis, front-end studies, questionnaire design, label-writing, market
research, designing for visitor conversations, etc.
