I am curating an exhibit on cooking and cookware spanning the time
period from the 1890s to the 1920s. I would like to provide some visual
demonstrations of the manual tools in use (for example, coffee grinders,
apple corers, cherry pitters, meat grinders, etc.) Short of having
someone physically in the exhibit gallery during all our open hours to
demonstrate these devices (too impractical) or providing visitors with
the opportunity to try their hand at using them (too dangerous), I
thought a viable alternative would be to have some video footage. Does
anyone know of living history demonstrations of these types of kitchen
implements that have been filmed or videoed? Any ideas on sources would
be greatly appreciated.
