Dear Museum-Lers,
I need your help!!
I am a grad student majoring art history in Japan and am interestied in the way
of exhibiting Japanese Art in USA.
Recently I am doing research on the World's Columbian Exposition in 1893,
especially on Japan building, called HO-O-DEN.
I know that this building was burned out in 1946, but I would like to know if
any parts of this building remains in USA.
I read that the University of Chicago and the Museum of Science and Industory
in Chicago holds the parts of them which was made by Kohun TAKAMURA.
Does somebody know if it is collect?
Any information you could give me would be appreciated.
Regards,
Mari TAKAMATSU
