The Center for Museum Studies is sponsoring three internships under its
Museum Intern Partnership Program (MIPP). MIPP is a unique program
which consists of a dual experience. During the summer, the intern
undertakes a project at a Smithsonian Institution (SI) museum, research
institute or office. In the Fall, the intern returns to their academic
institution and undertakes an internship (part-time) at a nearby museum.
The projects are complementary and the Smithsonian experience is
intended to prepare the intern for the subsequent experience. Projects
are selected in advance. Due to the nature of the program, interns are
recruited locally, from the commuting area of the second internship.
This year's partnerships are between:
the Office of Sponsored Projects (SI) and the Museum of African
American History (Detroit);
the Smithsonian Institution Traveling Exhibition Service and the Institute of
Texan Cultures (San Antonio); and,
the National Zoological Park (SI) and the Museo de Arte de Puerto Rico
(San Juan).
If you know students in Detroit, San Antonio or San Juan, please
encourage them to look at our web site -

If you have any questions, please contact me directly.
