But what if you intend to put those photos on line (or in a computerized
database)? What kind of a file name are you going to give them? How
are you going to sort them numerically if you have over 100 of them.
You say you don't think you will ever have more than about fifty.
That's what the founders of my museum thought as it related to just
about everything. They are astounded today and I am faced with the
problem of convincing the powers (County Commissioners) that we must
have more collections space, more staff, better salaries, etc. to manage
the place and future growth.
Look ahead. Consider that you might not be doing an effective job if
you are not pro-actively trying to build your collections. Do fifty
photos really tell a pictorial history of Kewaunee County?
