I would be happy to offer assistance, in the form of advice
based on my experience building and maintaining interactive
exhibits.  A little more information on the exhibit would be
helpful.  Will there be interactive components?  The term
"telecommunications" seems to imply historic and modern
technologies and an excellent forum for hands-on exhibits
that demonstrate some simple principles and linking them to
modern technologies.  If you respond to this post early next
week, you'll probably get my e-mail response via laptop
computer and cellular modem, as I'll be "on the road" in NC.
