Thanks to all of you who've responded to my query about our
shocking slide! The range of suggestions --both on and off
list--was fascinating. Special thanks to all of you who
thought beyond the obvious!
Of course the slide itself is grounded, since it is
supported by a central steel beam and encircling metal
bands; HOWEVER, each individual rivet (a hundred? a
thousand? I sure haven't counted!) holding each section of
plastic tube to the next section of plastic tube is NOT! Our
crew will be welding wire (and/or metal bands) to each rivet
and connecting them all to a single ground wire.
They probably had this figured out before I posted my query,
but it was fun to see how people's minds work when presented
with this kind of problem. Thanks again!
