FROM:YASUI R., Tokyo
McDonald Hamburger Japan opened their first museum in Ginza, Tokyo on July 20.
The museum is the result of the firm's 25th anniversary event held last year.
Their first hamburger bar opened in 1971 at the corner of Mitsukoshi Departme
nt Store in Ginza. However, i think it was about five years ago, it was forced
to move out from the area, being criticized by local shops that their custome
rs of the hamburger stand were very rude in making the pavements dirty with wr
apping papers, pieces of buns, spills of coke, etc. I remember some urban-bird
watchers who were watching the big ravens munching the buns and burger meat i
n early mornings were dissapointed with firm's decision to move out from the a
rea.
The new museum is located at: Shinjuku Island Tower 38 floor, 6-5-1, Nishi-Shi
njuku, Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo, Japan (Tel. 03-3344-1194).
Visits arranged by appointments only.
