REQUEST FOR ASSISTANCE:
ART SELECTION AND ACQUISITIONS POLICY
Mr. Garland A. Weeks has been appointed by the Chancellor of Texas Tech
University to prepare a comprehensive program for the selection,
accessioning, and placement of permanent artworks on the Tech campus
(2-D & 3-D). The acquisitions will be for the enhancement of the campus
(indoor and outdoor) and are not necessarily to be considered as part of
the highly secured and regulated collections of the on-campus Fine Arts
Museum and Gallery.
Garland is requesting your help in developing a sound and workable art
selections and acquisitions policy. Please share policies that are
appropriate models (e.g., proper conservation and maintenance).
Copies of policies may be sent to me or to Garland. ACUMG is also
interested in keeping copies on file for future reference. Your
participation and contributions will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
