Dear Museum List,
Tucked away in Paris' wealthy 16th arrondissement lies the Musie Dapper,
one of the world's most important private collections of African art.
Currently on view is an exhibition entitled "Receptacles" which will be
covered shortly in the Art & Archaeology magazine of the award-winning
on-line publication, Culturekiosque. In the meantime, visit "Magies", an
extraordinary collection of 90 statues, neck-rests, fetishes and other
power objects which document magical practices in Africa. Visitors can
also view "Magical Faces of Africa" and "Kush, Black Africa's Earliest
Civilization". Both exhibition reviews feature stunning virtual galleries
and can be accessed in English or French.
