English Ceramics Fall Forum, November 14-16, 1997
English pottery and porcelain will be explored from Friday evening, Nov 14 to
Sunday noon, Nov 16 through lectures and workshops.
Topics: English delftware, slipware and salt-glazed stoneware, dry-bodied
stoneware, and porcelain. Participants will also tour several museum houses
featuring Historic Deerfield's superb collection of English ceramics and take
part in two hands-on workshops covering the topics of lead-glazed
earthenwares and archaeological discoveries in Deerfield.

Deocorative Arts, Virginia Museum of Fine Arts; Leslie Grigsby, freelance
curator and author; Vivian S. Hawes, Research Associate for European

Charlotte; Amanda Lange, Assistant Curator, Historic Deerfield; and Rita
Reinke, Archaeologist UMASS Amherst.
