Sebastian -
AAM recently published a book called _The Wired Museum_ that deals with
that issue directly. In addition, you might want to look at Mike Wallace's
_Mickey Mouse History and other Essays in American Memory_. He has an
essay that looks at media and history museums. There also is an
interesting periodical called _Intelligent Agent: A newsletter on the Use
of Interactive Media and Technology in Arts and Education_ that sometimes
looks at virtual museums, but always looks at virtual space. Their web
site is www.intelligent-agent.com.
Good Luck!
